The procedure

Are there any aftercare instructions I should follow?
There is some discomfort with this treatment but at Marsh Medical Skin Clinic we use numbing cream and local anesthetic to minimise discomfort. A small proportion of patients report numbness in small, coin-sized pockets for a few weeks after treatment. Some patients feel a warm sensation in the treated area and may experience bruising, swelling and soreness. Small numbers report itching, redness and a burning sensation. All patients must be aware that there will be 6 to 9 days of swelling and social downtime. Normally there is swelling after the treatment and once that has settled down you will start to see results.
How many treatments are needed?
A reduction in fat can usually be seen after just one treatment. Usually clients need 1-3 treatments depending on the size of the area being treated and volume of fat.
When will i see results?
Most patients see their full results in 8-9 weeks. The speed at which your full results become apparent varies depending on the stability of your cell membranes, with younger patients more likely to see continued results over time. Regular massages advised by your practitioner will help the process.
How do I know If I’m a suitable candidate for Aqualyx?
If you are a healthy weight with a small amount of fat you wish to remove, are between 18-60 years old and you are not pregnant or lactating, then Aqualyx could be right for you. It’s important to note that while Aqualyx does have skin tightening properties, a small number of patients with excessive laxity may not be suitable for the treatment.
